For two days beginning Friday, Tollefson Plaza, located near Pacific Avenue and South 17th Street, will be alive with art and music as part of the third annual Showcase Tacoma. According to organizers, the free event is aimed to celebrate the local and regional arts scene in Tacoma’s urban museum district. On Wednesday, evidence of the event was already on display in the plaza. “House & Home” (right) by artist Tyler Budge is inspired by the homes flooded by the Mississippi River this spring. Showcase Tacoma is produced by Metro Parks Tacoma, the City of Tacoma, and Tacoma School of the Arts. For more information, visit http://www.showcasetacoma.org .
