“The 116th Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting breakfast will begin the second day of Business EXPO 99, the South Sounds business-to-business tradeshow.The annual meeting, Thursday, November 4 at 7:30 a.m., will feature the 21st Century Partners Recognition presentations by Don Johnson of Simpson Tacoma Kraft Company, and the 1998-1999 chairman of the Chambers board, and John Holtermann of Regence Blue Shield, the incoming 1999-2000 chairman. The meetings keynote address will be by David R. Clark, vice president of Sales & Marketing for SAGEM MORPHO, Inc.SAGEM MORPHO, headquartered in Tacoma, is the world leader in fingerprint identification for law enforcement, social service and the emerging consumer market.Clark joined SAGEM MORPHO in the spring of 1997 to take responsibility for the sales and marketing organizations within the company. Clark had worked in a variety of sales and marketing management positions for high tech companies specializing in law enforcement and public safety during the past 16 years.After he practiced law for 12 years in Texas, Clark joined the Datapoint Corporation in San Antonio holding several positions including director of sales & marketing and director of Public Sector Sales. Clark first got into the fingerprint business in 1993 when he joined TRW in Washington, D.C. as the national sales manager for Automated Identification Systems.Immediately prior to joining SAGEM MORPHO, Clark was director for Justice and Public Safety markets at Sybase, Inc.In addition to Clarks keynote talk, Chamber leaders will also present Chamber highlights of the past year and discuss the progress and success of numerous community projects.North American MORPHO Systems, Inc. was founded in the U.S. in 1985 as a subsidiary of the French fingerprint system developer, Morpho Systemes, SA. The company relocated its headquarters to Tacoma in 1986 after its first U.S. sale – a joint purchase by the Tacoma Police Department and the Pierce County Sheriffs Department.In 1993, the SAGEM Group located in Paris, purchased North American MORPHO Systems, Inc. and Morpho Systemes, SA.
