Centro Latino welcomes the community Saturday August 26, 2017 to enjoy Festival activities:
Mercado Artesal: Meet Latin American arts and crafts vendors: 10 am to 4:00 pm in the South Parking lot and in front of the Tacoma Housing Authority (“L” Street and 12 Avenue West of People’s Park).
Costume, dance and flag procession: Dress in colorful clothes and join the procession of marchers and dancers outfitted in costumes representative of the Aztec, Mayan and Inca civilizations plus view traditional Latin American dresses and flags. 1 pm to 2 pm.
Learn about the contributions of ancient Aztec, Mayan and Inca civilizations: 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Centro Latino 1208 South 10th Street (diagonally across from People’s Park).
Juried Art Exhibition: View art images created by local artists in response to the theme: “Unity through Diversity”. The Art Show is sponsored by the Tacoma Arts Commission and displayed at Centro Latino 1208 South 10th Street- Monday through Friday August. 15th through August 25th and Saturday August 26th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Artist Reception and Awards Ceremony: From 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm the 2017 Latin Festival Juried Art Show participants and 2017 Summer Film Camp students will be honored at Centro Latino 1208 South 12th Street, Conference Room 2.
