Chambers Bay to participate in Patriot Golf Day Sept. 1

The newly opened Chambers Bay golf course will participate in the nation’s first Patriot Golf Day, a joint initiative of The PGA of America and the United States Golf Association.

Golfers across the country, including those at Chambers Bay, will have the unique opportunity to donate $1 to Wounded Warriors, Inc., which benefits the Fallen Heroes Foundation to support families of those who have become disabled or lost their lives in the line of military duty. Chambers Bay will request an additional $1 for every green fee that is processed on Sept. 1.

“We have a large military community in Pierce County and are proud to help the families of those who have lost their lives serving our country,” said Pierce County Project Manager Tony Tipton.

Situated in University Place, Chambers Bay offers panoramic views of Puget Sound, neighboring islands and the Olympic Mountains. Owned and developed by Pierce County and designed by world-renowned architecture firm Robert Trent Jones II, LLC, the 18-hole layout is highlighted by dramatic elevation changes, windswept dunes and native grasses.
