Feel the pulse of what’s happening downtown Tacoma and hear about the positive impact Tall Ships 2008 will have on businesses and our communities at the prestigious annual New Tacoma Awards Luncheon, Fri., April 11, 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., at The TacomaClub.
The Awards luncheon, sponsored by Absher Construction, recognizes outstanding individuals, businesses and organizations for their exemplary efforts in the revitalization efforts of downtown Tacoma.
Keynote speaker Clare Petrich, of Petrich Marine Dock, and Co-chair of the 2008 Tall Ships Festival, will highlight the opportunities and economic impact this classic maritime festival will have on our region.
Master of ceremonies is Marty Campbell, owner of Buzzard’s and Stadium Video, and active supporter of downtown business and development, and Chair of the New Tacoma Neighborhood Council.
Four awards will be presented that recognize:

— Renovation or Beautification
— Community Spirit
— Sustained Momentum for Revitalization
— Pizzaz as a Retailer
The Tacoma Club is located at 1201 Pacific Ave., 16th Floor. Cost is $25 members pre-paid, $30 members at the door $35 non-members.
