The City Council needs three citizens to help plan and coordinate the City of Destiny Awards program that recognizes Tacoma citizens for their volunteer service at a public awards ceremony each spring.
The 13-member Citizens Recognition Committee develops the nomination tools and selection criteria, in addition to selecting the winners, for the City of Destiny Awards. The three open positionsto be filled by Tacoma residentsrepresent human/social services, small business and neighborhoods.
The City Council will review all applications and select three committee members, who will begin serving Sept. 1, 2005. The successful applicants will serve until Aug. 1, 2008. The Citizens Recognition Committee meets at 4 p.m. the third Thursday of each month.
