Looking for a way to get involved in the preservation of Tacomas architectural heritage? Tacomas Landmarks Commission needs you! Qualified individuals are invited to apply for one of three positions on the Landmarks Preservation Commission, including:
1. At-large: Open to all Tacoma residents
2. Architects: Open to licensed architects residing or working within Tacoma
3. Banker: Open to persons with professional qualifications in real estate finance, residing or working within Tacoma.
The Landmarks Preservation Commission oversees the establishment and regulation of landmarks, landmark sites and historic districts. Commission meetings are held at 5 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month.
The Commission is comprised of 15 citizen volunteers appointed to three-year terms. Members are recommended for appointment by the Council Appointments Committee and confirmed by the City Council.
