Theatre
Terrace Little Theatre presents Joh Mann’s I Buried an Idol, where contestants vie for the honour of being Canada’s top singing idol. These kinds of competitions can get nasty – a perfect setting for a murder. Directed by Julie Jacobs, Idol is a dinner theatre production presented at the Skeena Valley Golf and Country Club. Visual arts
The Terrace Art Gallery presents its February exhibit on display through Feb. 25. The exhibit features Smithers artist Perry Rath’s work. Curious Evidence is a mixed media show that explores visual and formal relationships of memory, renewal, presence/absence, history and time. Hours of operation are: Wed, Thur and Sat noon to 4 p.m.; Fri noon to 6 p.m.; Sun 1-4 p.m.
Music
Los Gringos Salvajes, the Smithers supergroup that blends jazz, swing, bolero and tango beats, presents a “Valentango” concert and CD realease party at the Kiva on Friday, Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. Tickets available at the Kiva and Misty River Books. Call 638-5457.
Cinema
The Terrace Not Paris film series presents Volver (To Return), the latest offering from Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar. The comedy/drama stars Penelope Cruz. Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. at Tillicum Theatre.
