The City of Tacoma’s Neighborhood Council Office, in cooperation with the University of Washington Tacoma’s (UWT) Urban Studies Program, is offering six free public sessions of the Government Leadership Institute on Mondays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on the UWT campus, Keystone Building Auditorium, 1900 Commerce St. The purpose of the sessions is to provide an opportunity for the general public and students to share the same classroom, and educate and inform both about the impacts of various municipal entities on the development of the city, and the relationship of other agencies and organizations. The first session of the Government Leadership Institute will be at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 25 and will focus on regional competition, coordination and cooperation. No registration is required.
