Pierce County Parks & Recreation will be holding the 6th annual Northwest Cars & Trucks Magazine’s Classic Car Show at Sprinker Recreation Center Sat., Sept. 20. Hours for the free spectator event are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. More than 400 classic cars and trucks will be on display.

“This year we’re featuring a beach theme, and we’re inviting people to wear their favorite beach attire and join the party,” said Shani Stewart of Sprinker Recreation Center.

Kyle Wintermute, Sprinker’s general manager, will serve as DJ and announcer. The center’s new picnic and playground areas will be available. Vendors will be selling food and merchandise, and entertainment will feature “Oldies” music.

Fees for pre-registration of cars and trucks is $12 by Sept. 10 and $15 from Sept. 11 through show day. To register, call Sprinker Recreation Center at (253) 798-4000. Day of event registration for cars and trucks begins at 7 a.m. followed by judging at 10 and the award presentation at 2 p.m. Dash plaques and goodie bags are included for the first 300 entries. Domino’s lunch (on site) will be provided for all pre-registered entries.
