It has been a rough year for Comic Book Ink. Last June, Munn announced his store faced $30,000 in debt due to relocation costs and an economic downturn. He made a plea to customers who stepped up and helped to keep the doors open.
“I realize, in the past, when met with adversity, I asked for your help,” wrote Munn on Monday. “I knew that, if I asked for it again, you would help. But I couldn’t do that to you. Not again. Not anymore. You’ve been asked too many times.”
Comic Book Ink has been a South Sound favorite of local artists, illustrators, and cartoonists, as well as comic book collectors. It was named the best comic book store by viewers of King 5’s “Evening Magazine” in 2010. The store is located at 2510 South 84th Street, in Lakewood.
