The City Council is scheduled to consider a resolution Dec 13. that would authorize the City Manager to further investigate a service tax to fund the costs of Police, Fire and Library services in Tacoma. The resolution would establish a stakeholder task force to include two business representatives, two neighborhood representatives, two non-profit organization representatives, two civic organization representatives, and an at-large chair to be designated by the City Council. The stakeholder task force would analyze the service tax proposal and its impacts and make recommendations to the City Council by June 27, 2006.
