Tacoma City Councilmember David Boe was appointed Tuesday to serve as Tacoma’s Deputy Mayor in 2015.
Boe began to serve on council when he was appointed to an at-large position in January 2010 (see “Boe, Mello appointed to Tacoma City Council,” Tacoma Daily Index, Jan. 14, 2010), and elected to the position in November 2011, according to the City of Tacoma’s Web site. He currently serves on Tacoma City Council’s Economic Development Committee (see “Campbell, Boe appointed to lead Tacoma City Council’s Economic Development Committee,” Tacoma Daily Index, Jan. 28, 2013); Infrastructure, Planning, and Sustainability Committee; and Neighborhoods and Housing Committee. His current term on Tacoma City Council expires on Dec. 31, 2015.
Prior to his service on council, Boe was a member of the Tacoma Arts Commission and Tacoma Planning Commission. He is currently principal architect at Boe Architects, a firm he founded in downtown Tacoma in 1996.
“It is an honor to be selected as the deputy mayor, and I look forward to representing the City of Tacoma in this greater capacity for 2015,” said Boe.
The deputy mayor position was previously held by Councilmember Victoria Woodards (see “Woodards appointed Tacoma Deputy Mayor,” Tacoma Daily Index, Jan. 9, 2014).
