Treasurer Ken Madsen is going on the road to explain Pierce Countys tax system to the citizens. Starting Tuesday, Jan. 28 in Edgewood, he will visit city and town council meetings to discuss property tax issues and to answer questions of citizens.
People have a lot of questions about property taxes. We receive numerous inquiries each day from people who come to our office, call on on the phone or visit our Web site, Madsen said. We decided to be proactive and take answers to the most frequently asked questions to the people where they live. Our goal is provide citizens with a better understanding of the county tax system.
The Edgewood City Council meeting will be held in the Edgewood Grange Hall, 1806 Meridian Ave. E., starting at 7 p.m.
The assessor-treasurer and/or members of his staff will be visiting several cities and towns in February and March, including Gig Harbor at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 10 and Sumner at 7 p.m. Feb. 25.
