Pierce County’s third annual Walk for the Benefits will be held Saturday, May 20 on the Foothills Trail in Orting.
The Walk promotes healthy lifestyles and financially gives back to the community. Monies generated after cost is divided between the T. A. Cross Endowment and the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation.
Registration can be accomplished at the Walk site in Orting City Park for $18 for a family of four or $6 for an individual. For a discount entry fee and to purchase a commemorative T-shirt, pre-register by May 10. The Foothills Trail provides a flat route and can accommodate wheelchairs and strollers. Walkers and other participants can start anytime between 8 and 10 a.m. and can set their own distances between 1 and 12 miles. Refreshment stations will be located at the rest stop and finish line.
The event is sponsored by Pierce County Parks and Recreation Services, Foothills Rails-to-Trail Coalition, and Good Samaritan Hospital and Foundation.
