Several hundred bicyclists will be rolling through the Puyallup Valley Sunday, June 24 as participants in the 18th annual Tour de Pierce family bike ride. Open to all levels of riders, the event starts at 8 a.m. in the “Gold” parking lot at the Puyallup Fairgrounds.
Riders choose between 12-, 30- and 50-mile routes. The 12-mile route provides a flat, easy ride suitable for families. The 30-mile loop extends past farms and more scenic views of waterways and Mount Rainer.
The 50-mile course travels through parts of Puyallup, Tacoma, Fife, Milton and Sumner. A rest stop will be set up at Riverside County Park, where food and entertainment will be available.
Registrations will be accepted between 8 a.m. and noon at the event. The cost for day-of-event registration is $12 for individuals and $30 for families. Advance registrations will be accepted until June 19 for $10 and $25 or online for a small fee atactive.com. Group rates also are available.
