The Diabetes Association of Pierce County will be holding testings for the disease, this Thursday, April 4, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the pharmacy department of the Tacoma Fred Meyer store at 19th and Stevens streets.
The test will not be given to anyone under the age of 18. The free test is for people who could have diabetes mellitus and not know it.
The test can be taken any time after the first hour of having consumed food or drink. The test takes about two minutes and is accomplished by obtaining a drop of blood from the fingertip and then processing it with special equipment. Written results will be provided.
