Donations are needed to help improve shelter conditions for homeless companion animals in transition. Collection barrels in the County-City Building (930 Tacoma Ave.) and the City of Tacoma, Community Relations Office (733 Market St.) still have plenty of room for donations of dry food, blankets, towels, beds, sweaters, litter boxes, mops, hoses and other items. All of the proceeds collected from this year’s campaign, which will wrap up at the end of December, will benefit The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County, Kindred Souls, Seniors with Pets Assistance Program, the Puyallup Animal Rescue and the Cascade Animal Protection Society. Happy Howlidays is organized by the Dugan Foundation, a public non-profit local organization dedicated to developing Pierce County into a sustainable no-kill companion animal community.
