Emerald Queen Casino’s Taste of Tacoma will provide shuttle services to this weekend’s festival, June 24-26 at Point Defiance Park, that will save guests time and money.
Guests are encouraged to park and ride the Taste Tacoma Community College (TCC) Shuttle which leaves Tacoma Community College at a new location this year, near the northwest corner of campus at South 12th St. and S. Mildred St., and travels directly to Point Defiance Park. Bus fare is $4 roundtrip and up to four children, 12 and under, ride for free with each fare-paying adult. Fare is good for one day only. Parking at TCC is free.
The Taste TCC Shuttle will operate on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The designated pick-up and drop-off area for the buses will be clearly marked at the TCC. The Taste TCC Shuttle will run every 15 minutes from TCC to Point Defiance Park. The Taste TCC Shuttle will run 30 minutes past closing each night, the ticket window located at TCC with close at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and at 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Public parking is available at the Taste in the Funland parking lot across the street from Point Defiance Park. The cost is $10 per car, cash only. Limited disabled parking is available after 11 a.m. daily inside the Park by following Ferry traffic in left lane on Pearl Street.
Festival guests coming from Vashon Island on the ferry are encouraged to walk on and ride the ferry across if able. Those who choose to drive should be advised they will have to follow the flow of traffic up Pearl Street, turn around and then proceed back down Pearl Street to enter the Funland parking lot. Those who choose to walk onto the ferry should also be advised there is a hill to climb to get to the park. This may pose some issues for those in wheelchairs or who have mobility issues.
