Pierce County reports the December storm hasn’t slowed the 14th annual Fantasy Lights at Spanaway Park, the Pacific Northwest’s largest holiday light drive-through event. Gates will be open tonight from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Nearly 10,000 vehicles have been driven through Fantasy Lights since the Thanksgiving Day opening. “We’re still anticipating 23,000 or more vehicles before the end of the year,” said Parks and Recreation Director Kathy Kravit-Smith. “The displays are holding up well during this weather – in fact their sparkle seems even brighter with snow as a backdrop.”
Pacific Avenue, Spanaway Loop Road and Military Road, the main routes to Spanaway Park, are bare and wet.
The colorful light show runs through Jan. 4. It is open seven days a week. Tickets at the gate are $13 per car; $28 per mini-bus with 16-24 passengers; and $45 for a 25+ passenger bus.
