Tacoma fire fighters responded to a commercial structure fire in a cabinet manufacturing business at approximately 3:10 p.m. Monday afternoon.

Fire crews arrived at the scene, located in the 1800 block of East D Street, to find fire coming from a large section of ductwork for the building’s dust collection system, according to Tacoma Fire spokesperson Joe Meinecke. Crews isolated the area of fire in the conveyance ducts using thermal imaging cameras, took sections apart, and used Class A Foam to extinguish the fire in the ducts and the systems hopper area.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation and there were no injuries to report.
