The U.S. Small Business Administration announced today the appointment of Calvin Goings as the regional administrator in Region X, to oversee the SBA’s programs and services in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska. Goings currently serves as the senior adviser to the president at the Washington Credit Union League where he is focused on supporting small businesses and emerging markets. Before his work in the private sector, Goings served in elected office for nearly two decades, serving as a Pierce County Fire Commissioner, Pierce County Councilmember, and as a Washington state Senator. Goings is affiliated with several Washington organizations including the Puyallup/Sumner Chamber of Commerce, Tacoma Urban League, Pierce College Foundation, and Friends of the Pierce County Library. He received an associate’s degree from Pierce College and a bachelor’s degree in political science and history from Pacific Lutheran University.Â
