Friends of Julia’s Gulch will host a volunteer work party on Sat., Dec. 13, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. to remove invasive Himalayan blackberry. Volunteers may park in the lot for View Point Park on Norpoint Way and follow the trail to the gulch’s entrance. The trail was recently completed by Metro Parks Tacoma and the Washington Conservation Corps. Volunteers will meet rain or shine at the picnic tables under the big leaf maple trees, and are encouraged to bring their own garden gloves and water bottle. Refreshments and tools will be provided, but bring your favorite digging tool or clippers if you can. More information is available online at juliasgulch.org/events.html.
