SILVERDALE — A teenage girl, who fell off a ladder at a construction site in the early morning hours Saturday, died later that night at Tacoma General Hospital.
Emily J. Ramm, 16, was taken to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton around 2 a.m. Saturday, after sustaining injuries that Kitsap County Sheriff’s detectives said occurred
from a fall “from a significant height” at Silverdale Elementary School, which has been undergoing reconstruction since July 2015.
Ramm was airlifted from Bremerton to Tacoma in critical condition, where she died from her injuries, according to the Pierce County medical examiner’s office.
According to a GoFundMe page set up by friends of Ramm, the teen died from a severe brain injury and suffered multiple fractures after falling from the ladder. Her family donated her kidneys and liver to organ transplant programs. Her father, John Ramm was quoted as saying his daughter and a group of friends were at the construction site attempting to find a vantage point to view the Perseid meteor shower.
The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident to determine why the victim was on the property, how access was gained to the site, who was involved and how the fall occurred. Persons with information about this incident may contact sheriff’s detectives at (360) 337-7111, or Kitsap 9-1-1 at (360) 308-5400.
