The Center for Independence — a non-profit organization serving as a resource for individuals with disabilities to fully access and participate in the communities through outreach, advocacy, and skills development – will hold its first-annual Winter Solstice Fundraiser and Silent Auction on Tues., Nov. 23 at 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. The event, which includes live music, champagne, and hors d’ oeuvres will be hosted at HomeStreet Bank, a family- and employee-owned institution that has supported communities for over 80 years.
The auction, which will help fund education programs for people with disabilities, will ensure that individuals who have disabilities become equal partners in our communities.
Items for auction include flight tickets (Puget Sound Sea planes), Amtrak tickets (Carlson Travel), a one-hour massage (Peaceful Atmosphere), barbeque package (A.A. Meats), and a wide variety of holiday gift baskets and other items. Music will be provided by Members of the Lake Union Civic Orchestra, the Seattle-based non-profit organization dedicated to the exploration and performance of symphonic and chamber music with energy and passion.
Businesses and individuals interested in sponsoring a table and/or attending the event should contact the Center for Independence at (253) 582-1253.
