Nominations are being accepted for the Third Annual Polar Bear Paw of Approval Awards, which are presented jointly by Metro Parks Tacoma Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, the City of Tacoma Sustainability Commission, and the Arctic Action Team, and honor local businesses that have made significant strides to reduce the impact their operations have on the environment.

Past award recipients include Interstate Distributor (2014); Unico Properties (2013); Weyerhaeuser (2013); Tacoma Community College (2013); and the Port of Tacoma (2013).

The deadline to nominate a local business for a 2015 Polar Bear Paw of Approval Award is Mon., March 23.
