I-705 Northbound Nighttime Closure Update — I-705 Northbound will have a nighttime closure Weds., March 28 through Fri., March 30 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. This closure will allow the contractor to do the steel overhang installation on the south side of the bridge.
Dock Street Closure — Dock Street will be closed to through traffic beginning Mon., March 26 through Fri., March 30 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This closure will allow the contractor to prepare for concrete placement at the column retrofits. UPDATE MON., MARCH 26 @ 11 A.M. Dock Street. Closure Update OPEN March 26, Monday through March 28, Wednesday; CLOSED March 29, Thursday through March 30, Friday. The contractor has reviewed their work plan for this week and found that they will not need to close Dock Street. to through traffic until this Thurs, March 29 through Fri., March 30. The timeframe remains 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
April Bridge Opening for Marine Traffic — The April opening of the lift span for marine traffic has been set for April 20 through 22, to coincide with the Daffodil Marine Parade. The contractor is looking into whether or not their schedule will allow for the bridge to be raised earlier in the week to allow a longer open period. In response to a question from the public about whether or not the bridge openings allow for vehicles and pedestrians to use the bridge, they do not. The bridge openings are scheduled to allow for maritime traffic only at this time. The bridge is not scheduled to be open to vehicles and pedestrians until 2013.
