Peter Orme, director of music at St. Pauls Anglican Church, has joined the faculty of the Nanaimo Conservatory of Music.
Orme began his musical career in England at the age of 15. By 17 he had gained the Associateship diploma if the Royal College of Organists and earned an organ scholarship to Cambridge.
Moving to Canada in 1969, Peter was director of music at Ridley College, Ontario and organist at First United Church in St. Catharines.
He has performed with the Toronto Orpheus Choir and taught at Brock University.
At St. Pauls Anglican, Orme is establishing a traditional Anglican choral program.
In the past year he has performed on several occasions with the Nanaimo Chamber Orchestra, most recently playing a virtuoso harpsichord solo in Bachs Fifth Brandenberg Concerto.
