City of Tacoma administrative offices will close Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, so garbage, recycling and yard waste pickup will be one day late during both of those weeks. For example, Tuesday’s pickup day moves to Wednesday and Wednesday’s pickup moves to Thursday and so on for the remainder of each week. The City of Tacoma’s landfill, recycling center and household hazardous waste facility will close at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve and will be closed all day on both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
