Partnership will bring Downtown Tacoma architecture exhibit to Tacoma Historical Society center

Tacoma Historical Society announced today it has formed a partnership with GeoEngineers, Inc. to develop an exhibit on the history of Downtown Tacoma’s architecture.

Currently, artifacts are being sought for use in the exhibit, which will open at the Society’s Exhibit Center at 747 Broadway on July 1.

The Society is looking for artifacts — structural elements or finish hardware that may have been removed during the process of renovating one of the many historic buildings
in our city’s downtown, or “tools of the trade” whose usefulness has been eclipsed by new technologies — to be used in this exhibit. The artifacts would remain with Tacoma Historical Society as a temporary loan for the duration of the exhibit (approximately six
months). If you have anything that may be of use for this exhibit or would like further information about this project, contact Society Director Mary Bowlby at mbowlby@tacomahistory.org or (253) 222-2699.

According to Bowlby, the local consulting engineering firm is underwriting and assisting with development of the exhibit.
