Pauli appointed City Attorney

Tacoma City Manager Eric Anderson announced yesterday that he has appointed Elizabeth Pauli as City Attorney. Pauli has served as the Acting City Attorney since April 23, 2004.

“I have the utmost confidence in Elizabeth,” said Anderson. “Her performance as the Acting City Attorney has been outstanding, and she is the perfect choice to lead our legal department.”

Prior to her appointment as the Acting City Attorney, Pauli served as chief assistant city attorney since May 1998. Before coming to the City, Pauli was at the Tacoma law firm McGavick Graves, P.S., where she specialized in employment law, civil and property tax litigation. Pauli spent nine and a half years at McGavick Graves and held partner status since 1995.

Pauli earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School in 1987 and earned double bachelor’s degrees in education and social work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1981.
