The Tacoma Art Museum has named Faith Brower Haub Curator of Western American Art. She will join the museum July 26. Brower will create, articulate, and execute a vision for TAM’s newest collection, the Haub Family Collection of Western American Art. Since 2012, Brower has served as Curator of Exhibitions and Collections at the High Desert Museum in Bend, Ore.
Kalayah DeGregory has been named Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound’s Youth of the Year for 2016. A graduating senior at Tacoma’s Wilson High School, DeGregory is also a staff member with the Metro Parks summer playground team.
Cindy Altick Aden has been appointed as director of the Washington State Library. Aden has an extensive background in public libraries and the private sector, including stints at Amazon, Corbis, and community newspapers. She is a graduate of Stanford University and the University of Washington.
Elizabeth Slabaugh recently joined the Washington State Department of Transportation Aviation Division’s team as aviation planner. Slabaugh previously served as an Army officer with the 6-17 Cavalry Regiment stationed in Fort Wainwright, Ark. Slabaugh piloted the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopter while in the Army and is currently working on her instrument/commercial fixed wing license and instructor license for rotary wing aircraft.
