The Pierce County Assessor-Treasurer’s office goes live with DocMan, a progressive, innovative and flexible document management system on June 5.
“This document management system will streamline our office, making our document workflow processes electronic,” said Ken Madsen, Pierce County Assessor-Treasurer. “We look forward to being one step closer to a paperless office. This will be a big change for us.”
Extensive studies were conducted to identify the requirements of a document management system to ensure savings and efficiencies. This included measuring the amount and content of paper handled, time spent filing and making copies, along with the total square footage occupied by file cabinets.
With implementation underway, the Assessor-Treasurer will next identify how this system can be used to automate inter-departmental processes.
The software used for DocMan is IBPM by Stellent. The program designer is ImageSource Inc., an Olympia, Wash., based company.
