The plan discusses challenges experienced by older adults and individuals with disabilities living in Pierce County and includes proposed strategies to address these issues.
The plan allocates 2008 program funding for the following community based services: Adult day services, Aging & Disability Resource Center, case management, counseling services, ethnic health promotion, falls prevention classes, family caregiver support & relief, foot care, home delivered meals, household helper services, in-home personal care, kinship caregiver services, legal aid, long term care ombudsman, senior centers, senior mealsites, senior media services and specialized transportation.
Pierce County ALTC is one of 13 Area Agencies on Aging in Washington State charged with planning, coordinating and offering services that help older adults and individuals with disabilities of all ages remain in their home if that is their preference.
ALTC invites public feedback on whether the plan address the most critical issues impacting Pierce County, what other collaborative partnerships should be considered, and whether ALTC has made the right decisions regarding funding of programs / services.
