The Pierce County Landmarks and Historic Preservation Commission has announced applications are being accepted for the 2012-13 Preservation Grant Program, which assists in funding preservation efforts in the Pierce County. Requests for grants up to $5,000 can be made for historic preservation or history-related project proposals. Matching funds must be provided by the applicants. Non-profit organizations, public agencies, and owners of property listed on local historic registers are eligible to apply. Applications will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on July 2, 2012. Project activities must be completed by Sept. 1, 2013.
