The last two Pierce County Council meetings of July will be in-district meetings in Frederickson and University Place.
On July 22 at 5:30 p.m., councilmembers will be in District 3 at the county’s new Central Maintenance Facility (4812 196th St. E., Frederickson). On the agenda will be updates to the parks and open-space plan and a proposed Charter amendment that – if approved by voters in the fall – would govern how members are appointed to county government’s more than 40 citizen boards and commissions.
The July 29 meeting in District 7 will be at 3 p.m. at the county’s Environmental Services Building in University Place (9850 64th St. W.). Councilmembers will consider proposals to create a parks, trails and open space funding task force and to allow certain off-premises commercial signs in the county right-of-way.
