Action on Ordinances
Proposal No. 2004-25, creating a new Chapter 2.61 of the Pierce County Code, “Anderson Island Citizens’ Advisory Board.”

Proposal No. 2004-28, vacating a portion of Sehmel Drive Northwest right-of-way in the Northeast Quarter of Section 36, Township 22 North, Range 1 East of the Willamette Meridian, in the Gig Harbor area.

Proposal No. 2004-30, adopting revisions to the construction and infrastructure regulations – building and fire codes, Title 17C of the Pierce County Code, to comply with state requirements and amending related fees; repealing Chapter 17C.20, “Uniform Building Code,” and Chapter 17C.60, “Uniform Fire Code”; adopting new Chapters 17C.20, “International Fire Code,” and Chapter 17C.90, “International Residential Code”; amending Chapter 17C.10, “Uniform Construction Codes,” Chapter 17C.70, “Uniform Mechanical Code,” and Chapter 17C.80, “Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings”; amending Section 2.05.040, “Building Construction Fees”; and setting an effective date.

Proposal No. 2004-31, amending Section 18J.10.050 of the Pierce County Code (PCC) “Approvals Required” and Chapter 18J.30 PCC “Parkland-Spanaway-Midland Communities Plan Area – Design Standards and Guidelines,” to modify standards for commercial development and redevelopment in the Parkland-Spanaway-Midland Communities Plan area; and adopting findings of fact.

Action on Resolutions
Proposal No. R2004-67, amending the service area of the East Gig Harbor Water District by withdrawing the “West Passage Ridge” area.

Messages from the Executive
A message from the Executive transmitting the following Ordinances, which were approved and signed on April 5, 2004:

Ordinance No. 2003-1040s, updating the Growth Management Act population allocations to the cities, towns and unincorporated areas of Pierce County for the year 2002; and adopting findings of fact.

Ordinance No. 2003-127s2, repealing Section 8.88.140 of the Pierce County Code (PCC), “Manner of Operation”; amending Section 8.88.170 PCC, “Reckless Operation”; and adopting a new Section 8.88.165 PCC, “Negligent Operation.”

Ordinance No. 2003-128s, amending Section 8.88.360 of the Pierce County Code, “Personal Watercraft.”

Ordinance Nol. 2003-134s2, amending Section 8.88.040 and 8.88.250 and adopting new Sections 8.88.252 and 8.88.254 of the Pierce County Code, “Watercraft Regulations” to address impoundment of derelict or abandoned vessels.

Ordinance No. 2004-14, ratifying the collective bargaining agreement reached with Council 2, Washington State Council of County and City Employees, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), AFL-CIO, Local 120 – District Court Probation; and amending the Pierce County Salary Classification Plan.
