Action on Ordinances
Proposal No. 2002-128, amending Pierce County Code Section 10.36.101 “Limits Established”; deleting references to the ferry “Islander” which the county no longer owns; and restricting the maximum vehicle length to 38 feet and the maximum load limit to 67,500 pounds on the Pierce County ferry “M/V Steilacoom.”

Proposal No. 2003-26, amending Section 2.99.030 of the Pierce County Code, Pierce County Commission Against Domestic Violence, by revising the designated government representatives.

Proposal No. 2003-27, authorizing the approval of open space classification under current use assessment on certain property within the unincorporated boundaries of Pierce County, in the Northwest Quarter of Section 25, Township 16 North, Range 4 East of the Willamette Meridian; and adopting findings of fact. (Application No. OS7-02, Fred A. Miller – Eatonville area)

Proposal No. 2003-28, authorizing the approval of open space classification under current use assessment on certain property within the unincorporated boundaries of Pierce County, in the Southeast Quarter of Section 30, Township 20 North, Range 4 East of the Willamette Meridian; and adopting findings of fact. (Application No. OS10-02, David and Stephanie Drew – Puyallup area)

Proposal No. 2003-29, authorizing the approval of open space classification under current use assessment on certain property within the unincorporated boundaries of Pierce County, in the South Quarter of Section 11, Township 19 North, Range 6 East of the Willamette Meridian; and adopting findings of fact. (Application No. OS5-02, David and Tamara Brown – Buckley area)

Proposal No. 2003-30, amending Chapter 2.49 of the Pierce County Code, “Pierce County Farm Advisory Commission.”

Proposal No. 2003-31, vacating a portion of 122nd Street East right-of-way, located in the Southeast Quarter of Section 9, Township 19 North, Range 4 East, Willamette Meridian, in the Puyallup area.

Action on Ordinances
Proposal No. R2003-33, approving, as creating municipality, Resolution No. 2003-01 of the Economic Development Corporation of Pierce County, adopted February 7, 2003, taking official action regarding the issuance of not to exceed $6,500,000 of non-recourse revenue bonds, for the benefit of See Tac Packaging Mfg. Corp.

Message from the Executive
A message from the Executive transmitting the following Ordinance, which was approved and signed on March 3, 2003:

Ordinance No. 2003-5s, authorizing a temporary, one-time limited exemption from the provisions of the Pierce County Charter Article 7 “Personnel System,” and Pierce County Code Title 3 “Personnel,” to facilitate the transfer of personnel of the Pierce County Community Development Corporation to Pierce County, pursuant to the exemption authority set forth in Pierce County Charter, Section 7.20(1)(h); and amending Ordinance No. 2002-112S by increasing the 2003 budgets for economic development and the housing repair program and correcting a technical error.
