Pierce County officials announced Tuesday Warner Webb will assume the lead role in the Pierce County Fire Prevention Bureau on April 16, where he currently serves as a fire inspector.
Webb came to Pierce County from the Whatcom County Fire Marshal’s Office, where he served 15 of the last 20 years as its fire marshal. He has worked as a firefighter for the Port of Bellingham for three years, and as a volunteer firefighter and reserve police officer for 15 years. While at the Fire Marshal’s Office, Warner supervised Building Services, running the permit center front counter. He also served as vice president of the state chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators, and as well as the board of directors for Region 3 Fire Investigation Council.
Steve Bailey, Director of Pierce County Department of Emergency Management, appointed Webb to the fire marshal’s position.
The Pierce County Fire Marshal’s Office has had an interim fire marshal, Tom Poste, since 27-year-veteran Wayne Wienholz retired last year. More information about the office is online at http://www.co.pierce.wa.us/pc/Abtus/ourorg/dem/fireprev.htm .
