Pierce County and the Economic Development Board for Tacoma-Pierce County will host the third annual Pierce County Aerospace Summit next month in downtown Tacoma.
The event aims to offer the local business community information about emerging foreign markets, lean manufacturing best practices, procurement opportunities from industry leaders, and network opportunities with aerospace industry peers.
Boeing Commercial Airplanes Director of Market Analysis Jim Billing will present a keynote speech about aerospace economics and global trends. Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction Randy Dorn will lead a discussion on the next generation of aerospace workers.
More than 125 people representing aerospace suppliers, manufacturers, industry service providers, policy makers, and educators attended the summit last year.
The 2014 Pierce County Aerospace Summit will be held on Weds., July 23, between 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., at the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center, located at 1500 Broadway, in downtown Tacoma. Register online here. A copy of the agenda is available online here.
