Pierce Transit marked the beginning of bus service between downtown Puyallup and South Hill during a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Puyallup Farmer’s Market last weekend.
The Puyallup Connector Route 425 offers stops at the South Hill Mall Transit Center, Good Samaritan Hospital, 4th Street NW and River Road, and the Puyallup Sounder Station, with 30-minute service to key destinations such as the Puyallup Public Library, Puyallup City Hall, Wildwood Park, Senior Housing Assistance Group Center, Group Health Medical Center, and Mel Korum YMCA.
The new service will be tested and evaluated as a one-year demonstration project through June 6, 2015. Toward the end of the demonstration period, the Pierce Transit Board of Commissioners will determine if the Puyallup Connector will be added to regular service.
