Port of Tacoma officials announced Tuesday a 1.5-acre site on Tacoma’s tide flats is available for lease. The partially graveled and fenced yard, located at 1114 Taylor Way (pictured), is part of a nine-acre site that once included 10 buildings, but was razed in recent years to make way for future Port operations (see “Port of Tacoma to raze 10 structures on 9-acre tide flats site,” Tacoma Daily Index, Sept. 26, 2014). The property is zoned Maritime Industrial, serviced by Tacoma Rail, located on the Heavy Haul Corridor Route, and is accessible via Interstate 5 and State Route 509.
