David Morrison was recently selected by the Port of Tacoma as its Director of Financial Planning and Treasurer.
In this position, Morrison is responsible for budgeting, capital planning, debt management, asset liability management and cash management.
“Even though David has been with the Port a short time, he contributed to our 2006 budget process,” said Jeff Smith, the Port’s Senior Director of Finance and Administration. “The Finance team helps the Port plan to be profitable. We anticipate that David will be a key part of that effort.”
Before joining the Port, Morrison was Senior Finance Manager for Microsoft (Redmond, Washington). He has also worked in finance for Intel (DuPont, Washington) and Deloitte & Touche (Seattle). Morrison also served in the United States Navy (1987 to 1992), where he achieved the rank of lieutenant.
Morrison holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from the University of Washington (1987), and Master’s Degrees in both Engineering and Business from the University of Texas at Austin (1995).
