Members of the four employee unions of the United States Postal Service (American Postal Workers Union, National Association of Letter Carriers, National Postal Mail Handlers Union, and the National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association) have announced they will hold rallies nationwide on Tues., Sept. 27 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to encourage Congress to support legislation that addresses the financial crisis facing the Postal Service. In Tacoma, a rally will be held at the office of Congressman Adam Smith, located at 2209 Pacific Ave., Suite B. According to organizers, the rallies aim to engage the public and members of Congress through speeches, handouts and gatherings to make their voices heard.
