On Dec. 8 the City Council is scheduled to have a public hearing to consider the Planning Commission’s recommendations regarding Highlands Twenty LLC’s Open Space Current Use Assessment application for the Highlands Golf Course. The City Council is considering whether or not to approve the Highlands Golf Course for a reduction in property taxes through an Open Space Current Use Assessment. If approved, this would be a multi-year reduction in property taxes assessed to the golf course, contingent upon its continued use as a publicly beneficial open space and recreation area. The hearing will start at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, first floor, Tacoma Municipal Building, 747 Market St.
