UPDATE: The City of Tacoma announced the following on Weds., Jan. 22 @ 3:54 p.m.:
The Parking Stakeholder Meeting planned for Thursday, January 30, has been cancelled and will be rescheduled in the following few months.
The City of Tacoma will hold a public meeting next week to discuss downtown parking.
Topics up for discussion include solutions that could better identify the city’s nine parking garages downtown, such as signs and marking, mapping solutions or other ideas. Meeting attendees will also discuss the garages themselves and how markings, signage and branding can improve the downtown parking experience.
The meeting will be held on Thurs., Jan. 30, at 5 p.m. at Wells Fargo Plaza, 1201 Pacific Avenue, Suite C-5, in downtown Tacoma.
City staff hope the discussion will help craft further public involvement opportunities later this year as they plan for a 2015 effort to make its parking garages more accessible to downtown visitors.
