Members of the City Council approved a resolution May 10 that would name the new bridge over Lister Gulch on East 32nd Street as “Ke-lah-bid,” as proposed by the Puyallup Tribe of Indians. The name is a Puyallup word the tribe traditionally used to describe the creek that flowed through Lister Gulch, and it means “place where the salmon eggs are stored.”
