Graham’s new Frontier Park Lodge will host an in-district meeting of the Pierce County Council July 24 at 5:30 p.m. On the meeting’s agenda will be a proclamation honoring the 2007 Pierce County Fair – set for Aug. 9-12 – on its 60th anniversary, and a briefing on the 176th Street East and Canyon Road extension project.
Frontier Park is home to the fair and other events throughout the year. District 3 includes western Graham, South Hill, Ashford, Eatonville, Elbe, Elk Plain, Frederickson, eastern Roy and eastern Spanaway. Council rules call for at least one evening meeting a year to be conducted in each of the seven council districts; the District 3 meeting will be in lieu of the council’s regular Tuesday meeting.
Every Pierce County Council meeting features a citizen comment period when anyone can speak for three minutes on issues not on that meeting’s agenda. The council’s regular meetings are Tuesdays at 3 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the County-City Building (930 Tacoma Ave. S., Rm. 1045) in Tacoma, and the council’s home page is http://www.piercecountywa.gov/council .
