REQUEST FOR BIDS METROPOLITAN PARK DISTRICT OF TACOMA Point Defiance Marina Herring Pen Upgrade Project BID# J2015-13 BID NOTICE The Metropolitan Park District of Tacoma will receive sealed bids for Bid# J2015-13, Point Defiance Marina Herring Pen Upgrade Project, at the office of Planning, Design & Development, Metropolitan Park District of Tacoma, 4702 S 19th Street, Tacoma WA 98405 until 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 3, 2015. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at 11:00 a.m. Bids received after the appointed time set for receipt will be returned unopened. The project includes, but is not limited to: Within the existing Herring Pen footprint, eight (8) W8x35 galvanized steel H-piles will be driven to obtain a minimum of 20 feet penetration via vibratory hammer. Fiberglass reinforced composite recycled plastic timbers will be secured via stainless steel hardware to a stainless steel frame. The gangway, catwalk and platform will be aluminum framing and 100% fiberglass grating decking. The two treated wood piles are to remain and shall be wrapped to at least one foot below the mudline. The existing sheet pilings, two H-piles, and all other components of the derelict herring pen will be removed. The base bid estimate range is $200,000 $249,999. Time of completion is 115 calendar days.
