City Council members are scheduled May 1 to hear a presentation from Public Works staff about a proposed ordinance on right-of-way restoration. The proposed ordinance would clarify expectations for how rights-of-way including streets, sidewalks, alleys and other elements are to be restored when utility work requires cutting into the infrastructure. Council members are also scheduled May 1 to receive a six-month update on the Citys Housing First Encampment Elimination initiative which offers supportive housing and intensive services to encampment residents, removal of trash from the encampment site and monitoring to prevent repopulation of closed camp sites.
The Council will not take public comment during the noon study session in the Tacoma Municipal Building North, Room 16. CityPost (Channel 21 on Click!, Channel 77 on Comcast) will air the audio portion of the session live. Replays of the study session audio may be heard Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. on CityPost (Channel 85 on Click!, Channel 77 on Comcast). On-demand audio archives are available on the Web within 24 hours of the meeting at http://www.tvtacoma.com .
